
Nabil Ammar met with his Algerian and Venezuelan Counterparts in Uganda
On the sidelines of his participation in the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, held in Kampala, Uganda, on January 19 and 20, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, met today, Friday, January 19, 2024, with his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf.
The meeting was an opportunity to praise the strength of the longstanding and excellent relations of fraternity and cooperation between Tunisia and Algeria, and to confirm the determination of the leaders of the two countries to further strengthen and diversify them in various fields.
The two Ministers welcomed the results of the 22nd session of the High Joint Commission, reiterating their willingness to ensure the diligent follow-up of its outcomes. They also agreed to further develop trade exchange and goods flows between both countries, intensify efforts to develop border areas and open new horizons for cooperation in innovative sectors related to the green economy, stated the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.
After this meeting, the Tunisian Foreign Minister met with his Venezuelan counterpart, Yvan Gil Pinto.
On this occasion, the two Ministers stressed the two countries’ common determination to strengthen their friendly relations, to raise the level of bilateral cooperation and to take advantage of the economic diversity and cultural richness of the two countries in order to establish new partnerships, especially in the sectors of agriculture, tourism, energy and cultural affairs, according to the same source.
The Tunisian Minister also received an invitation from his Venezuelan counterpart to pay a working visit to Venezuela. The Minister thanked his counterpart for the invitation, stressing his determination to involve Tunisian economic actors in the visit in order to strengthen the exploitation of promising cooperation opportunities.
On the other hand, the Minister welcomed Venezuela's positions in favor of the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people for freedom and independence and the call to put an immediate end to the brutal aggression of the occupying entity against Gaza and the rest of the occupied Palestinian Territories.
For his part, the Venezuelan Minister welcomed Tunisia's full adherence to international law, its commitment to respect the Charter of the United Nations and the constancy of its position supporting just causes.
