(Aljazeera News) Today, Thursday, March 24, 2022, Western leaders are expected to meet in Brussels for an emergency meeting of NATO, the G7 and EU , where they will discuss Russia sanctions, Europe's energy security and the Ukrainian refugee crisis.

They will gather in order to draw up plans to ramp up pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin as his country’s invasion of Ukraine enters a second month.

Joe Biden, the president of the United States, is expected to attend all three of Thursday’s meetings.
