
Tunisia, NATO: Discussing expanding horizons for defense cooperation
Cooperation between Tunisia and NATO, and strategies to bolster it, took center stage in a meeting on Monday between Tunisian Minister of National Defense, Imed Memmish, and the Head of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Robert Peter Bauer.
During the meeting, Minister Memmish underscored the progress in cooperation with NATO, emphasizing its role in bolstering Tunisia's defense capabilities since attaining major non-NATO ally status in 2015.
He also expressed readiness to establish partnership mechanisms with NATO, focusing on training and experience sharing for mutual benefit.
Admiral Bauer commended the current level of cooperation, highlighting advancements in Tunisia's military capabilities, and affirmed NATO's commitment to further enhancing cooperation, diversifying collaboration, and fostering continued growth.
