Netflix suffers a major subscriber loss
Netflix suffered its first subscriber loss in more than a decade. The company's customer base fell by 200,000 subscribers during the January-March period, according to its quarterly earnings report.
In a letter to shareholders, Netflix put part of the blame for its falling numbers on people sharing their passwords for the service with non-paying viewers.
After this major subscriber loss, the streaming giant advised its employees to be more careful with how they are spending company money, according to a new memo posted to the company's website.
