New Tunisian Consulate Inaugurated in Bologna, Italy
The Tunisian consulate in Bologna, Italy, was officially inaugurated on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
The ceremony was presided over by Mounir Ben Rjiba, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, following a directive from the President of the Republic.
The inauguration began with the hoisting of the national flag over the consulate's headquarters. Secretary of State Ben Rjiba then officially opened the consulate, signaling the start of its operations and services for the Tunisian community in Bologna.
Bologna, located in the Emilia-Romagna region of northwestern Italy, is home to over 40,000 Tunisians. The new consulate will significantly reduce the need for the Tunisian community to travel hundreds of kilometers to the consulates in Genoa and Rome.
Additionally, the consulate aims to foster and promote Tunisian-Italian decentralized cooperation across various fields within the provinces it serves.
This initiative is expected to strengthen ties and explore new opportunities for collaboration between the two nations.
