
Phone call between the Tunisian FM and his Jordanian counterpart
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians abroad stated that the Minister, Nabil Ammar received yesterday, Monday, May 1, 2023, a phone call from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan ,Ayman Safadi, during which he was briefed about the most important results of the Pan-Arab Meeting on Syria, held on Monday in Amman under his chairmanship, with the participation of the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Egypt, and in the presence of the Syrian Foreign Minister.
The Jordanian Minister pointed out that the meeting, which is a follow-up to the consultative meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries, which was held on April 14 in Jeddah at Saudi Arabia's invitation and was also attended by Jordan, Iraq and Egypt, had discussed ways to continue channeling humanitarian aid to the Syrian people, to resolve the issues of refugees, displaced and missing, in addition to the need for concerted efforts to effectively combat terrorism and its organizations, in a bid to find a comprehensive and lasting political solution to the Syrian crisis in accordance with the provisions of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
For his part, the Tunisian Minister said that Tunisia supports all sincere efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability in Syria, in order to preserve its national sovereignty and territorial integrity and relieve the Syrian people of a long-term suffering.
He also pointed out that the security and stability of Syria is part of the security and stability of the Arab region, and that duty dictates supporting this brotherly country in order to fulfill its role in the Arab region in a very delicate circumstance.
The Tunisian Foreign Minister welcomed this constructive approach of consultation with Tunisia, voicing wish to achieve the expected progress to restore relations between Syria and all Arab countries to their normal course.
