
Saied, Dabaiba: A Phone Call Mainly About Irregular Migration
The Presidency of the Republic of Tunisia stated that the President, Kais Saied, had this afternoon a phone conversation with the Head of Government of National Unity in Libya, Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba.
This conversation provided an opportunity to discuss a number of issues, including the phenomenon of irregular migration and the need to combine efforts to find urgent solutions, according to the same source.
The Tunisian President took the opportunity to emphasize to the Libyan leader that in order to deal with the growing phenomenon of irregular migration, it is important to plan a "collective solution" involving all the countries concerned, whether from the south or the north of the Mediterranean.
In this regard, President Saïed recalled the initiative he had announced of holding a high-level summit involving the various stakeholders to tackle the origins of the phenomenon before looking at its potential impact and repercussions.
The two parties also reviewed, during this call, bilateral relations, reaffirming their shared determination to promote them further in all areas and sectors.
