
Sousse: significant rise on tourist arrivals
A significant jump in tourist indicators has been recorded in the governorate of Sousse during the first nine months of the year 2022 in terms of the number of visitors and overnight stays, Faouez Ben Hlima, Regional Commissioner of Tourism, told TAP on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
During this period, the number of tourists who visited the region reached 392,871 people, i.e. an increase of 139.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Similarly, the region has experienced an evolution of almost 185.7% in the number of overnight stays which amounted to 1645682 from the beginning of January to September 2022, according to the same source.
As for the local market, Tunisians have spent 665426 nights in the hotel units of the region during the first nine months of the current year against only 337872 nights during the same period of 2021, that is to say growth of 79.4%.
