
The Canadian Ambassador assures his country's readiness to stand by Tunisia
According to the Press and Communication Office in the Tunisian Government, The Head of Government Najla Bouden received today, Monday, March 28, 2022 at the Government Palace in Kasbah, the Ambassador of Canada to Tunisia, Patrice Cousineau.
This meeting was about ways to improve bilateral cooperation between Tunisia and Canada, especially in the light of the challenges of the difficult global situation due to the Russian-Ukrainian war and its economic repercussions on all countries of the world, especially the developing countries.
The Head of Government praised Canada’s role for standing by Tunisia, especially during the period of the spread of the Covid-19, and its provision of health assistance to enable our country to overcome the difficult circumstance.
She also highlighted the need to work on further developing trade exchanges between the two countries, supporting the export of olive oil, products of traditional industries and the supply of grains.
The Head of Government also reviewed the set of reforms made by the government aimed at reviving the economy, rehabilitating small and medium enterprises, reforming public finances and stimulating investment.
From his part, the Canadian Ambassador affirmed his country's keenness to develop cooperation in the field of agriculture and higher education, reviewing Canadian initiatives in the field of economic and social integration of women and support for small sectors and crafts.
The Canadian Ambassador also highlighted his country's support for Tunisia in its talks with the International Monetary Fund and its willingness to stand by Tunisia in this delicate circumstance.
