The Head of Government on a two-day working visit to Algeria

The Head of the Tunisian Government, Ahmed Hachani, arrived today, afternoon, to Algiers on a two-day working visit.

On this first foreign visit since taking office in August, the Head of Government is leading a high-level delegation to the works of the 22nd session of the Tunisia-Algeria High Joint Commission.

The accompanying delegation includes the Interior Minister Kamel Feki, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Nabil Ammar, the Finance Minister Sihem Namsia and the Economy and Planning Minister Samir Saïed.

The Minister of Social Affairs Malek Ezzahi, the Minister of Trade and Export Development Kalthoum Ben Rejeb, the Transport Minister Rabii Majidi and the Tourism and Handicrafts Minister Mohamed Moez Belhussein are also part of the delegation. 

A business forum is also on the agenda along with bilateral meetings, mainly with the Algerian Prime Minister Aymen ben Abderrahman.

This 22nd session is a step forward towards boosting cooperation in various fields with taking bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership.

This session is taking place as both countries seek to give a fresh start to cooperation in various fields and trade which amounted to TND 2.64 billion in H1 of 2023.

Tunisia played host to the 21st session of the Tunisia-Algeria High Joint Commission in March 2017.  Eight legal agreements and bilateral programs were signed in several areas, including the fight against terrorism, organized crime and illegal migration, employment, religious affairs, youth and sport.
