
The Head of Government receives the Canadian Ambassador
The Tunisian Government stated that the Head of Government, Najla Bouden, received today, Friday, September 9, 2022, at the Kasbah Palace, the Canadian Ambassador in Tunis Patrice Cousineau, on the occasion of the end of his mission to Tunisia.
The Canadian ambassador gave the Head of Government an overview of the latest preparations by the Canadian provinces to participate in the 18th Summit of the Francophonie, scheduled for November 19 and 20 in Djerba, as well as the work of the village of the Francophonie and the Business Forum.
"The envoy from Quebec will visit Tunisia this month," he said.
Patrice Cousineau praised the historic relationship between the two countries and the common desire to strengthen them further through irregular increasing investment and enhancing care for the Tunisian and Canadian communities in both countries.
From her part, the Tunisian Head of Government highlighted the privileged Tunisian-Canadian relations, stressing the willingness of the Tunisian side to boost bilateral cooperation in the fields of aviation industry, higher education, scientific research and artificial intelligence.
"Tunisia aspires to attract more Canadian investment, especially after nearly reaching an agreement with social partners to begin the implementation of the economic reform program and sign an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF)," she said, calling on Canada to support Tunisia's efforts in this reform process.
Bouden also praised the continued support of Canada to Tunisia, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
