The International Monetary Fund prepares to send teams to Tunisia & Lebanon
The spokesman of the International Monetary Fund Gerry Rice announced today, Thursday, March 17, 2022, that the International Financial Corporation has dispatched two of its teams to Tunisia and Lebanon during this month in order to continue the existing negotiations to obtain loans that contribute to rescue the troubled economies of these two countries, where they both suffer from a low ratio growth, unemployment and inflation.
Gerry Rice also indicated that the delegated teams to Tunisia will seek to continue building on the relative progress made in the first round of negotiations and to verify the reform policy of the Tunisian government, but the matter will not be the same for Lebanon, which also suffers from more complex problems, especially on the political side, which requires more time and commitment.
