
The Labor Union declares a general strike in all public sector institutions
Today, Tuesday, May 31, 2022, the Tunisian General Labor Union announced a general strike in 159 public institutions and establishments on Thursday, June 16, next.
The Tunisian General Labor Union confirmed that the demands are to withdraw Circular No. 20 issued on December 9, 2021, and implement all signed agreements, in addition to the immediate entry into social negotiations leading to the restoration of the purchasing power for the years 2021-2022-2023.
Among the demands, the union referred to the immediate start of reforming public enterprises and institutions so that they play their economic and social role, and not to resort to partial or total privatization, embodying the agreement signed between the government and the Tunisian General Labor Union on October 22, 2018.
