
The Libyan Minister of Transport meets with the UTICA delegation
The Libyan Minister of Transport in the Government of National Unity Mohamed Al-Shahoubi said on Wednesday that his government is determined to remove obstacles hindering cooperation with Tunisia.
The remarks of the Libyan Minister came during his meeting with the President of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA in french) Samir Majoul in Tripoli.
Al-Shahoubi praised the expertise of Tunisian enterprises in the sectors of infrastructure, construction and public works and said there is room for investment in Libya. He also said there is need to pool efforts so as to upgrade land, sea and air transport, according to the UTICA.
Majoul, who is leading a business delegation on a visit to Libya on December 24-30, said there are real opportunities for economic partnership. The private sector in both countries is ready to explore these opportunities and develop infrastructure projects, he added.
Majoul stressed the need to consolidate food, health and energy sovereignty in both countries.
Attendees of the meeting called for providing necessary conditions for the promotion of bilateral projects.
The Tunisian delegation met with officials representing the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and Libya's General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry as well as Libyan businessmen.
