
The Minister of Defense praises the Italian support for Tunisia
Today, Monday, March 14, 2022, the Minister of National Defense Imed Memmish received at the ministry headquarters the Italian Ambassador to Tunisia Lorenzo Fanara, on the sidelines of the twenty-third session of the Tunisian-Italian Joint Military Committee in Tunisia, as part of the follow-up to the existing military cooperation between the two countries.
According to a statement by the Ministry of National Defense, the minister praised Italy's support for Tunisia in the military and development fields and its intention to participate in the realization of the professional training center for diving and underwater works in Zarzis by providing equipment and training workers.
In this meeting, the Minister of National Defense also highlighted that Italy is considered to be one of the most important partners to Tunisia due to the historical and civilized relations between the two friendly countries and because they are facing the same security challenges.
From his part, the Italian ambassador expressed his satisfaction with the distinguished cooperation in the military and development fields, highlighting his country’s permanent readiness to support the efforts made in the purpose to develop the capabilities of the Tunisian army and its developmental role.
