The President received the Korean Minister of Interior & Safety

The Presidency of the Republic of Tunisia stated that the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, received today, Monday, March 28, 2022, the Minister of Interior and Safety in the Republic of Korea Jeon Hae-Cheol.

On this occasion, the President of the Republic affirmed Tunisia's keenness to further strengthen friendship and cooperation relations with the Republic of Korea, especially in the economic, social and digital fields, as well as in the security field.

The Head of State also praised the Korean experience in the field of governance and democratic transition through investing in modern technologies, praising the Republic of Korea's initiative to launch an electronic platform to listen to citizens and their suggestions on policy-making and control of governmental plans. He pointed out, in this regard, the similarities between this mechanism and the electronic consultation ‘Istichara’ in Tunisia in order to enhance the people's participation in political life and to shape the country's future options.

From his part, the Korean Minister of Interior and Safetty expressed his country's satisfaction with the existing level of cooperation with Tunisia, stressing his country’s keenness to further broaden its horizons, praising the sincere will of both sides to achieve this.

The Korean minister praised Tunisia's success in confronting the Covid-19 pandemic, and he expressed his admiration for the effective policy adopted by Tunisia in this regard, especially through the spirit of solidarity among the people, the intensive vaccination campaigns.
