The Tunisian Government stated that the Head of Government, Mrs. Najla Bouden, received yesterday, January 05, 2023, at Al-Kasbah Palace, the new Ambassador of Canada to Tunisia, Mrs. Lorraine Diguer.

The Head of Government welcomed the Canadian diplomat, and expressed her wishes for success in performing her new duties in Tunisia.

The meeting also touched on bilateral cooperation programs between Tunisia and Canada in various fields, especially higher education, research and innovation, health and the manufacture of aircraft components.

Mrs. Bouden praised the development of Tunisian-Canadian relations, especially in terms of university cooperation and embracing university and scientific competencies, and her contribution to the development of social programs in Tunisia, especially the "Women Empowerment" program targeting the Tunisian women.

For her part, the Canadian Ambassador praised Tunisia's success in organizing the Francophonie Summit, which was held last November on the island of Djerba, and expressed her country's readiness to continue the existing cooperation programs between the two countries.
