Tunisair has become a member of the board of directors of the Brussels-based International Aeronautical Telecommunication Company (SITA) for a two-year period, the Ministry of Transport said Monday.

Tunisian expert in digital transition and computer systems Riadh Della, representing Tunisair, was elected to the board of SITA after a tough competition from representatives of Turkish Airlines and Emirates Airlines.

SITA is an international organization founded in 1949. It provides communications and IT services to the aviation industry.

It has subsidiaries in more than 200 countries and 1,000 airports and employs nearly 4,700 people from 140 countries around the world.
