Coast Guard units from the central regions recovered 13 dead bodies and rescued 1,867 irregular migrants of various African nationalities. These units also thwarted 50 irregular migration attempts, as reported by the General Directorate of the National Guard in a press release published on Sunday.

Additionally, the same source stated that 14 smugglers and intermediaries, wanted by the police, were arrested by the National Guard District in Sfax.

Furthermore, 16 boats, 47 engines, and quantities of fuel were seized during the operation, and an anarchic boat manufacturing factory was also discovered.
