Tunisia, Algeria: discussing military cooperation

The Tunisian Minister of National Defense, Imad Memmish, received today, July 19, 2022, at the Ministry headquarters, the Commander of the Algerian Naval Forces, the Rear Admiral, Mahfouth Ben Maddah, with the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Army of the Sea, the Navy Lieutenant-General, Adel Jehan.

This meeting was an occasion to review the strong and historical brotherly ties that exist between the two countries and the common will to further advance military cooperation between the two sides in general and to develop work between the two sisterly navies in particular, according to a statement by the Ministry of National Defense.

It is noteworthy that the Commander of the Algerian Naval Forces is participating, along with representatives from the navies of the Mediterranean countries, in the forum of senior naval commanders, which Tunisia is hosting from July 18 to 20, as part of the continuation of activities related to the maritime exercise “Phoenix express 22” that took place last June in Tunisia.
