
Tunisia, Chad: discussing political developments
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad stated that the Minister, Othman Jerandi, received yesterday, October 26, 2022, at the Ministry headquarters, the Chad's Minister of State within the President's Office, Adoum Younousmi who handed him a letter from the President of the Transitional Authority of Chad to the President of Tunisia.
Adoum Younousmi discussed with Othman Jerandi the latest developments of the political situation in Chad, and he emphasized on "the importance the Transitional Authority of Chad grants of complete the transition process within the framework of respect for democracy and political pluralism", the Tunisian Ministry stated.
Th Chad's Minister of State also pointed out to the "delicate" security situation in the Sahel and in the Lake Chad basin, stressing the efforts made by his country to combat terrorism in the region.
He commended the major role played by Tunisian as well in establishing security and stability on the African continent, as a member of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union 2022-2024.
From his side, the Tunisian Minister stressed the need to uphold dialogue and consensus during the transition period in Chad, noting the importance of preserving the security and stability of the country and its territorial integrity.
The meeting was also an occasion to demonstrate the fraternal bilateral relations of cooperation between the two countries in several fields such as: health, higher education, infrastructure, and ways to diversify and develop them.
