
Tunisia, France : discussing bilateral relations and upcoming events.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad stared that the Minister Othman Jerandi received the French ambassador to Tunis André Parant, at the Ministry headquarters on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
The meeting focused on ways to foster bilateral relations in the lights of the upcoming bilateral events, namely the 4th session of the French-Tunisian High Council for Cooperation scheduled for 2023, the Ministry said in a statement.
The upcoming 18th Summit of the Francophonie to be held on November 19 and 20 in Djerba was also discussed at the meeting.
Jerandi stressed Tunisia's readiness to host this major international event, which coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of the Francophonie.
He voiced determination to move forward on the path of rectifying the political process, which was launched to establish genuine democratic institutions and lay the foundations for the rule of law and fight corruption.
Jerandi reviewed the next steps in the implementation of the provisions of the new Constitution of the Tunisian Republic, including those relating to the electoral law, the Constitutional Court and the legislative elections.
Jerandi and Parant also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including the global economic challenges, according to the same statement.
