
Tunisia invited to high-level meeting on world food security in New York
Tunisia received an invitation to participate in a high-level round table meeting on world food security, that will be held on September 20 in New York, the United States, on the margins of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Tunisia was invited to this summit by the African Union, the European Union and the UN 75 Leaders Network, according to a press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad.
The Tunisian Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi received, on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the ministry headquarters, the invitationfrom the part of the ambassadors of the European Union and Senegal in Tunis as well as the Chargé d'Affaires of the Spanish Embassy in Tunis.
Representing the organizing parties of this event, these diplomats underlined the importance of Tunisia's participation in this summit.
From his part, the Tunisian Minister underscored the need to pool efforts to devise collective solutions to the issue of food security, whose repercussions threaten peace and stability on a global scale.
