Tunisia, Italy: partnership to combat illegal migration discussed

The Tunisian Ministry of Interior stated that the Minister Kamal Feki received today Tuesday, the new Ambassador of Italy to Tunisia, Alessandro Prunas, at the Ministry's headquarters.

The meeting was an opportunity to exchange views on the current state and prospects of cooperation and partnership programs between the interior ministries of both countries. Efforts by both sides in combating irregular migration were reviewed, emphasizing the necessity of cooperation with specialized UN organizations to intensify voluntary repatriation operations of irregular migrants arriving in both countries to their countries of origin, according to the Tunisian Ministry.

There was a reaffirmation of the sincere will and firm determination between the Tunisian and Italian sides to continue to strengthen these relations and elevate them to the highest levels, reflecting the depth and rootedness of the historical relations between the two countries and serving the interests of the friendly peoples.
