Tunisia, Italy: signing of partnership agreement in cultural heritage

During the Italian Minister of Culture's visit to Tunisia on Saturday, April 27, 2024, a partnership agreement was signed between both countries' cultural ministries, according to a statement by the Tunisian Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

The agreement focuses on enhancing the Colosseum Archaeological Park in Rome and the El Jem Palace in Mahdia, aiming to improve tourist access and value of these sites.

Officials emphasized the historical ties between the two countries and called for increased cooperation in fields like film, literature, and festivals.

Italian Minister expressed his country’s readiness for further cultural projects and highlighted the importance of cultural tourism.

The agreement marks a starting point for future partnerships, including potential collaborations on archaeological sites like Kerkouane and Neapolis, added the Tunisian Ministry.
