Tunisia, Italy: working session in the cultural field

Today, Friday, April 8, 2022, both the Minister of Cultural Affairs, Hayat Ketat Guermazi and the Italian Ambassador to Tunisia, Mr. Lorenzo Fanara supervised a working session between an Italian delegation and some employees of the ministry about developing and strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Tunisia and Italy in the cultural and creative field.

The session touched on bilateral cooperation in the field of training and benefiting from international experiences in the use of modern technologies in the heritage sector, especially in monuments and heritage sites registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

They also discussed working to submit a joint project between Tunisia and Italy to UNESCO, and they discussed working together to restore the Bardo National Museum and digitize the Tunisian Film Archive.

On this occasion, the Minister of Cultural Affairs praised the ancient and deep historical relations that link Tunisia and Italy over decades, calling for the need to intensify, strengthen and upgrade joint cooperation in a way that would serve the interests of both countries in the cultural and creative fields.

From his part, the Italian Ambassador affirmed his country's keenness to further deepen the joint cooperation with Tunisia in the cultural sector and enhancing the common cultural identity
