
Tunisia, Japan: Discussing the development of tourist bilateral relations
The Tunisian Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts stated that today, Tuesday, August 15, 2023, the Minister, Mohamed Moez Belhoussein, received the Ambassador of Japan to Tunisia, Takeshi Osuga and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting focused on the distinguished Tunisian-Japanese relations in areas related to the sectors of tourism and traditional industries, and ways to further develop them, especially in the field of sustainable tourism, cultural tourism, and some traditional crafts such as pottery and ceramics, next to training and the exchange of expertise and experiences.
On the occasion, the Minister of Tourism stressed the depth of the historical relations between the two friendly countries, praising in this context the high level of cooperation reached, calling for continuing work to upgrade it and expand its fields in order to embody the aspirations of the two friendly peoples, within the framework of trust and mutual respect between the two parties.
He stressed that the Ministry of Tourism is working to move towards new and promising tourist markets, similar to Japan, to attract a new quality of tourists with high spending capacity, pointing out that Tunisia was present in various international exhibitions that were organized in Japan and will continue to be present with intensity, stated the ministry.
For his part, the Japanese Ambassador affirmed his country's readiness to further develop cooperation relations with Tunisia in various fields, including tourism and traditional industries, pointing to the importance of launching joint programs for vocational training and exchanging expertise and experiences in these fields and promoting Tunisian tourism.
