During the fifth session of political consultations between Tunisia and Poland, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mounir Ben Rjiba, met on Thursday with Henryka Mościcka-Dendys, the Undersecretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the Polish Ambassador in Tunis.

In the meeting, the Secretary of State emphasized the robust friendship between Tunisia and Poland, celebrating the 65th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year. He expressed Tunisia's eagerness to further develop cooperation with Poland across various sectors of mutual interest, particularly appreciating the tourist exchanges between the two nations, as noted in a statement from the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Henryka Mościcka-Dendys reciprocated by commending the friendly and respectful relations between the two countries. She affirmed Poland's commitment to enhancing and expanding cooperation with Tunisia in all domains.

The discussions also covered key regional and international issues of shared concern, including the war in Ukraine and its significant impact on global food and energy security, as well as the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Secretary of State reiterated Tunisia's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, an end to the genocide against Palestinians, the lifting of the siege, and the unconditional delivery of humanitarian aid.

Political consultations continued with the Director General for Relations with Europe and the European Union at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad.

The officials reviewed traditional areas of cooperation and explored opportunities in new, promising sectors.

They also discussed strengthening cooperation with the EU, especially in light of Poland's upcoming Presidency of the EU in the first half of 2025.
