Tunisia receives about 599,000 doses of vaccination from Germany
Today, Thursday, March 31, 2022, Tunisia received about 599,000 doses of anti-Coronavirus vaccinations donated by the German Government as part of the COVAX sharing mechanism, according to what was announced by the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) on its Facebook account.
UNICEF pointed out that this donation increases the total number of vaccinations acquired by Tunisia through "COVAX" since March 2021 to more than 5.4 million vaccine doses, noting that the new batch will contribute to strengthening national efforts for the operations of vaccination during the month of Ramadan.
During the handover procession, the Chief of the Cabinet of the Tunisian Minister of Health, Ilham Karim, indicated the urgent need for vaccinations and preventive measures to combat the virus.
From his part, the German ambassador to Tunisia, Peter Prüge, valued this gesture, noting that Germany has been standing by Tunisia since the start of this worldwide pandemic.
