The Tunisian Ministry of Health stated that the Minister Ali Mrabet met on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the ministry headquarters, with the Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy in Tunis Natasha Franceschi.

The meeting dealt with the programs of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to support the health sector in Tunisia, according to a statement by the Ministry.

Areas of cooperation in the health sector and ways of consolidating the ministry's efforts were at the heart of discussions.

The Tunisian Minister stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation, especially in the emerging diseases and the manufacture of vaccines and medicines.

He pointed out the prospects for cooperation in various fields, including the treatment of drug addicts.

The Minister also commended the US support to Tunisia's efforts during the COVID-19 crisis.

For her part, the US Deputy Chief of Mission affirmed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the health sector through a series of projects financed by USAID.
