Tunisian FM met with his Algerian Counterpart in Rome

On the sidelines of his participation within the official Tunisian delegation led by the President of the Republic at the Italy-Africa Summit held in Rome on January 28 and 29, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf.

This meeting was an opportunity to highlight the depth of the fraternal and historical ties that unite the two brotherly countries and to discuss ways to consolidate them in several areas in a way that responds to the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples towards more complementarity and a strategic partnership, according to a statement by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.

The two sides also reiterated their support for the brotherly Palestinian people in obtaining their legitimate rights. Furthermore, they exchanged views on key regional and international issues of common interest, including those related to the promotion of development and peace in the African continent and the intensification of efforts aiming at reducing the impact of irregular migration and the importance of finding effective solutions to combat this phenomenon, according to the same source.
