Tunisian Foreign minister thanks his Romanian counterpart

According to a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians abroad, Othman Jerandi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians abroad, had a phone conversation, on Monday, March 07, 2022, with his Romanian counterpart, Bogdan Lucian Aurescu.

In this conversation, the Tunisian Minister expressed his country’s thanks and gratitude for the support and assistance provided by the Romanian authorities over the past days in the evacuation process of members of the Tunisian community from Ukraine.

From his part, the Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister praised the efforts of the Tunisian authorities in the evacuation process as well, and he expressed the readiness of the Romanian authorities to continue the coordination between both sides in order to ensure the safety of the Tunisian community.

Jerandi highlighted that this human experience reflects the great human sense of the Romanian people. It also provides evidence of the distinguished relations between the two countries, which are preparing to celebrate next year the sixtieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between them.

The two ministers seized this occasion to review the preparations for the upcoming Tunisian-Romanian Joint Committee.

In this context, the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed his country’s keenness to seize the available cooperation opportunities and exploring new fields. He also expressed his readiness to respond to the Minister’s invitation to visit Tunisia during the coming period.
