Tunisian President met with his Palestinian, Egyptian & Syrian counterparts

The Presidency of the Republic of Tunisia stated on the margin of his participation in the 32nd Session of The Arab Summit in Jeddah, the President Kais Saied met with his Palestinian, Syrian and Egyptian counterparts.

At the start of his visit, the Tunisian President held talks yesterday, Thursday, with the Palestinian Mahmoud Abbas, where he reiterated that the Palestinian cause will remain the central issue, stressing that the "Palestinian right will be imprescriptible."

During the meeting, the two Presidents also discussed the relations of brotherhood and cooperation between the two countries, and the importance of enhancing opportunities and mechanisms for bilateral consultation and coordination.

The Tunisian President also held this Friday morning, at the residence in Jeddah, a meeting with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, according to the same source.

The meeting dealt with the close relations between the Tunisian and Egyptian peoples and ways to further support and develop them.

During this meeting, a number of regional and international issues were also discussed and the need for collective action to confront and overcome them.

Also, the President Kais Saied held talks this morning with the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Bashar Al-Assad.

This meeting was an occasion where the Tunisian President expressed his great pleasure in holding this historic meeting, which reflects the fraternal ties between Tunisia and Syria, contrary to what some claimed at one time that they were friends of Syria, while they contributed to the suffering of the Syrian people for many years.

The President of the Republic also welcomed the return of Syria to the League of Arab States, expressing his hope that this brotherly country would restore its health and maintain its unity and stability, and that the Syrian people would decide themselves, away from all external interference, so that Syria would return to being a beacon of science and culture and assume its natural role regionally and internationally.

The meeting also touched on the historical and close relations between Tunisia and Syria and the need to expand them into promising fields according to a new independent thought and unconventional perceptions. In this context, it was agreed to intensify mechanisms and opportunities for communication, consultation and coordination between the two countries at various levels.

This meeting also represented an opportunity to exchange views on some regional and international files of common concern, and to address issues on the agenda of the Arab summit.
