UN seeking ‘humanitarian ceasefire’ in Ukraine
(France 24) – As fighting in Ukraine continues, Martin Griffiths, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, will fly to Moscow on Sunday, April 3, 2022, and then to Kyiv in the aim to secure a 'humanitarian ceasefire' between both fighting sides, according to the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres.
Both Russia and Ukraine had agreed to meet Griffiths.
It is noteworthy that, till now, Russia has refused any visit by a senior UN official to discuss its war in Ukraine, even in the weeks before the February 24 invasion.
