Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Saturday, March 12, the mothers of Russian soldiers to prevent their sons being sent to "war" in Ukraine.

In a video released on Telegram, Zemenskyy said: "Check where your children are, and if you have the slightest doubt that your children can be sent to war against Ukraine, act immediately" in order to prevent them being killed or kidnapped.

"Ukraine never wanted this terrible war. And Ukraine does not want it. But it will defend itself as much as necessary", he added.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has published phone numbers and e-mails through which mothers can obtain information about their imprisoned sons in Ukraine.
