The Chinese health authorities closed an industrial city of nine million people after a new outbreak of Covid-19, and announced that 4770 cases of the virus were recorded, most of them in Jilin Province in the northeast, while imposing a closure on the city of Shenyang in the neighboring Liaoning Province.

Since the past few weeks, the Chinese authorities  have been making efforts to eliminate hotbeds of the virus by imposing quarantine, making tests to detect infections and closing cities.
