All employees and workers of the public institutions will go on strike tomorrow, Thursday, June 16, 2022, by a decision of the General Tunisian Labor Union (UGTT in French).

The strike includes 159 public establishments, while maintaining the minimum services in vital work centers.

On a statement released today, June 15, 2022, the General Tunisian Labor Union called all workers to be on time at 9:00 am in front of the temporary headquarters of the union, in order for the general strike to succeed, to express their demands and to show their responsibility on defending their rights.

In the same statement, published on its official Facebook page, the Union confirmed that “the strike tomorrow, Thursday, June 16, 2022, is an opportunity for workers to affirm their unity, defend their rights, and challenge the threats… it is an occasion to express their anger at the deterioration of their conditions, low wages and the threat to their livelihood, adding that it will be a day for people to gather in the union offices to raise their voice to the public opinion, and to those who ignored their legitimate rights, underestimated their strength, and denied their efforts and hard work."
