October 19-21: The 1st International Energy Transition Expo in Tunisia
The 1st International Energy Transition Expo will be organized on October 19-21 in Tunis, at the initiative of the Trade Union of the Photovoltaic Industry (CSPV), in collaboration with the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA).
It is an expo-conference on the theme: "Sustainable Development in Tunisia," which will bring together all the stakeholders in the renewable energy sector, both private and public, as well as senior officials and representatives of public and private institutions in Tunisia and abroad.
The private sector projects to invest about TND 10 billion (nearly $3 billion) to achieve 80% of the Tunisian Solar Plan's (PST) goal of deploying 4,500 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy over the next 7 years, CSPV President Ali Kanzari stated to TAP.
The event will focus on the private sector's role in implementing the National Strategy of Sustainable Development in Tunisia and in achieving the PST's goals.
The event will lay emphasis on renewable energy (EnR) in Tunisia, all sectors included, and their role in the transition to a low-carbon economy, and on the collective responsibility of all public and private economic stakeholders and operators in achieving sustainable development in Tunisia.
"To achieve this goal, it is time to close ranks and remove all legislative, administrative and financial barriers, whether at the level of the government or the main stakeholders in the energy sector in Tunisia (STEG, ANME and other donors, etc.)," said Kanzari at a meeting held at the UTICA seat ahead of the exhibition.
