
The Head of Government receives the U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia
The Tunisian Government stated that the Head of Government Mrs. Najla Bouden received this morning at the Kasbah Palace, the new Ambassador of the United States of America to Tunisia, Mr. Joey Hood.
While welcoming the American diplomat, the Head of Government expressed her wishes of success in performing his new duties in Tunisia.
During the meeting, Mrs. Bouden praised the long-standing relations between Tunisia and the United States of America. She also reviewed, by the way, the economic and social situation in Tunisia and the extent of progress in implementing the economic and social reforms program, with reference to the importance of the difficulties, obstacles and challenges facing the reform path.
For his part, Mr. Joey Hood expressed the desire of the American side to strengthen economic cooperation with Tunisia, especially by working to further raise trade exchanges between the two countries and to enhance cooperation in the fields of renewable energies and the green economy.
The ambassador reaffirmed his country's continued support for Tunisia in its negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and in its endeavor to implement the necessary reforms for the recovery of its economy.
