The Labor Party: All indications confirm the failure of the consultation
The Tunisian Labor Party considered in a statement today, Friday, March 18, 2022, that "all indications confirm the failure of the National Consultation ‘Istichara’, despite all the fraud attempts that were used and the public funds that were wasted, with the absence of transparency, violation of personal data, and the involvement of the Ministry of Interior in the process."
In the same statement the Tunisian Labor Party indicated that “the number of participants in the electronic consultation will not, in all cases, exceed half a million people, including children at the age of 16.”
The party highlighted that despite this abject failure, "Kais Saied continues to trample the will of the people by passing to appoint a committee that will prepare to change the constitution in the aim to establish the system of absolute autocracy," according to the statement.
The Tunisian Labor Party also said that "the country is sinking into indebtedness and is on the verge of bankruptcy, and the people are threatened in their nourishment, while Kais Saied is focusing his attention on monopolizing power, and his government is left with nothing but to comply with the dictates of the International Monetary Fund, which will lead to further destruction of the nation's capabilities and to the aggravation of poverty, unemployment and hunger."
The Tunisian Labor Party added that "It has become obvious that all of the promises of Kais Saied are false and camouflaged, including fighting corruption and monopoly."
