The Tunisian President of the Republic Kais Saied, decorated, during a ceremony held at at Carthage Palace on Thursday, July 14, 2022, the Tunisian tennis player Ons Jabeur with the Grand Medal of the National Order of Merit.

This distinction comes as a sign of consideration for the Tunisian tennis player for her international achievements, according to a statement by the Tunisian Presidency of the Republic.

The Head of State praised the champion for her efforts in being among the top tennis players in the WTA world rankings, saying that Jabeur was a true ambassador of her country and contributed to the promotion of Tunisia and the skills of its youth.

During this season, Jabeur won two championships, namely Madrid’s and Berlin’s and played the Wimbledon finals (Grand Slam).
