On Thursday, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mounir Ben Rjiba, met with Christopher Cutajar, Malta's Permanent Secretary at the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade. Cutajar is currently on a working visit to Tunisia from July 17 to 19.

The meeting, held at the Ministry's headquarters, highlighted the longstanding friendship between Tunisia and Malta. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation through regular exchanges and the organization of bilateral meetings.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the 12th Tunisia-Malta Joint Commission is set to be organized later this year. The discussions also focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest, including employment, renewable energy, and water resource management.

The Maltese official expressed Malta's willingness to share its expertise in water management with Tunisia. Both parties also agreed to enhance maritime and air transport links to boost tourism and trade, which, despite the available opportunities, remain below expectations.
