Tunisia, France: preparations for Francophonie Summit

Preparations for the Francophonie Summit next November in Djerba, and the Tunisia-International Monetary Fund (IMF) negotiations were at heart of the Head of Government’s meeting on Thursday, September 29, 2022, with the French Ambassador to Tunisia.

The Head of Government, Najla Bouden pointed out during the meeting, the need to begin preparations for the 4th Tunisian-French High Cooperation Council, due to be held in 2023 in Paris.

She also welcomed the agreement concluded with the social partners, which will help steer negotiations between Tunisia and the IMF in the right direction to implement urgent economic reforms.

The French Ambassador, André Parrant affirmed from his part, his country's commitment to support Tunisia in these negotiations, commending the agreement concluded between the government and its social partners.

He also pointed out France's preparations for its participation in the Francophonie Summit.
