
Tunisia, Niger: discussing bilateral cooperation
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad stated that the Minister, Othman Jerandi, received, at the Ministry headquarters, on Monday, August 29, 2022 the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Niger, Hassoumi Massaoudou, who headed his country's delegation at the 8th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 8) which was hosted by Tunisia on August 27 and 28
The both sides discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation in all fields, notably trade, health, infrastructure and higher education, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad.
The two diplomats agreed to start preparations for the 8th session of the Joint Tunisian-Nigerien Committee to be held in Tunis.
The Nigerien minister affirmed his country's willingness to open an office in Tunis to provide consular services to Nigerien nationals, especially students.
Jerandi promised to provide the necessary support for the opening of this office, and he underlined on the other hand the need to increase coordination between African countries to further leverage economic opportunities in promising and high value-added fields.
