Tunisia's first mobile identity launched

The Tunisian Minister of Communication Technologies Nizar Neji announced the launch of Tunisia's first Mobile ID, the national electronic identity on mobiles. This will ensure a secure and rapid access to administrative services.

The minister indicated, during a press conference held at the Kasbah Palace under the supervision of the Head of Government, that this digital identity enables the administration and institutions to develop online services, digitize administrative procedures and gradually abandon paper transactions.

He highlighted that this new procedure citizen can extract digital administrative documents online at any time and without the need to move to the headquarters of the departments and structures that provide services to the citizen, and which will eventually enable the gradual cancellation of the procedures for identifying the signature, and relying on the electronic signature as an alternative measure.

He pointed out that the content of the civil status that carries the civil status number and the visual electronic stamp will be the first service to be secured using the digital identity on the mobile.
