Tunisia, Sweden: Working Visit to Boost Digital Cooperation

Stockholm, May 18, 2024 – Nizar Ben Neji, Tunisia’s Minister of Communication Technologies, conducted a working visit to Stockholm on May 16-17, accompanied by a senior delegation. Invited by his Swedish counterpart, Ben Neji aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the digital sector.

During his visit, Ben Neji met with Erik Slottner, Sweden’s Minister for Public Administration, along with several Swedish digital experts.

The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration and sharing expertise in various digital areas, including:

  • Legislative frameworks for digital technologies
  • E-governance and digital services for businesses and citizens
  • Digital identity and trust solutions
  • Artificial intelligence strategies
  • Cybersecurity strategies
  • Cloud computing and interconnection platforms
  • Digital infrastructure, particularly 5G networks

Ben Neji presented Tunisia’s national digital strategy and governance framework, highlighting the roadmap for developing 5G networks, which is pivotal for Tunisia’s digital transformation.

Both sides reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations between Tunisia and Sweden and expressed their commitment to continuing and expanding cooperation in these critical digital domains.

This partnership aims to meet the aspirations of both nations in advancing their digital economies.
