Tunisia, Venezuela: Signing a Visa Exemption Agreement

The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration & Tunisians Abroad, Mounir Ben Rjiba, received on Thursday, October 12, 2023, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Africa of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yuri Pimentel, who is on a two-day working visit to Tunisia on 12 and 13 October, 2023, stated the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.

The Tunisian Secretary of State praised the distinguished level of the Tunisian- Venezuelan friendship relations, and reiterated Tunisia’s true willingness to further enhance them as well as to find new avenues of cooperation in many other fields, particularly with regards to food security, energy and climate change.

For his part, the Venezuelan Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Africa stressed the strength of the friendly relationship binding Tunisia and Venezuela based on mutual respect and he reaffirmed his country’s determination to promote cooperation with Tunisia in different fields particularly in higher education, transport and cinema.

During this meeting, the two officials reiterated their full solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people and exchanged views on the necessary means to provide all their support to the Palestinian people.

The two parties took the occasion as well to sign a visa exemption agreement between the two countries for holders of diplomatic and special passports, according to the same source.
