
Tunisian FM receives the Chinese Special Envoy
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad stated that today, Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the Minister Othman Jarandi received, at the ministry headquarters, the Chinese Special Envoy and Ambassador of the Arab-Chinese Forum, Li Chen, who is visiting Tunisia on the eve of the convening of the first Arab-Chinese summit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on December 9, 2022.
The meeting dealt with Arab-Chinese relations and ways to further enhance them and diversify their fields. The Minister welcomed the holding of the Arab-Chinese summit and expressed Tunisia's determination to contribute to its success. He stressed the importance of the work of this summit leading to practical outputs and projects that contribute to the development of Arab-Chinese cooperation in various sectors.
On the level of Tunisian-Chinese relations, the Minister expressed his satisfaction with the level of distinguished relations between the two countries, and reiterated his thanks to the Chinese authorities for their support to Tunisia in confronting the Covid-19 pandemic, especially by providing it with vaccines and medical supplies. He valued China's financing of a number of development projects in Tunisia, calling for the need to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, push the pace of investment and intensify meetings between economic actors from both sides.
For his part, the Chinese envoy praised the well-extinguished Tunisian-Chinese relations, stressing his country's keenness to further intensify cooperation with Tunisia in various fields and encourage Chinese companies to invest in our country, praising Tunisia's support for Arab-Chinese cooperation.
